Why I threw away Handwriting without Tears!

After posting a picture on instagram of our new handwriting curriculum, I was asked why we choose to make the switch from HWOT to A reason for handwriting.
Overall, I think they are both great programs but as homeschooling parents we often have to reevaluate what is and is not working for our children. I did this over the last week and decided that a change needed to be made. I decided to answer that question during a video so I could explain the my decision more in depth.
I plan on doing a review of each product in the future and another comparing the two. Let me know in the comments if you have any specific questions.

  1. Well, I don't know much about homeschooling, but I don't like the name HWOT anyway. Why not Handwriting with Smiles to spin it positively, lol? Anyway, these reviews are going to be a lot of help for other parents. Thank you!

  2. I found your vlog on You Tube last week. We may make the switch too. My first grader needs some extra help with knowing where letters belong on lines.

  3. I'm so glad I found your blog through youtube. I think one of my kids might have the same issue with the lines, I'm glad you shared the other program I think she would like it. This fall will be our first homeschooling. We are starting a summer practice run to see how we do.
